Operating Principle

The Passive Autocatalytic Hydrogen Recombiner is generally suspended near potential hydrogen leakage points or in areas where hydrogen is likely to accumulate. When the gas mixture comes into contact with the catalyst module at the bottom of the device, hydrogen and oxygen undergo a recombination reaction on the precious-metal catalyst, producing water or water vapor. The heat generated by the reaction causes the gas to expand and rise, creating natural convection within the enclosure. Together with the optimized flow-guiding structure at the top, the gas is discharged through the upper openings while surrounding hydrogen-containing gas is continuously drawn in from the bottom, forming a sustained and highly efficient hydrogen removal cycle.
